Brisbane Festival
Team Leader - Volunteer
Each September, Brisbane Festival explodes across the city with a thrilling program of theatre, music, dance, circus, opera and major public events such as Sunsuper Riverfire. Brisbane Festival attracts an audience of around one million people every year. The volunteer team leaders fulfil a crucial role at the Festival, ensuring that everyone is happy, safe and given clear direction on their shift.
Hearts on the River
Event Manager - Internship
Girls Got Heart’s prime goal is to raise funds to provide much needed health services to rural areas of Queensland, at this event over $70,000 was raised. In this role I worked for the team at Girls Got Heart to manage their Hearts on the River fundraising event. In this position I was responsible for coordination with the venue, vendors, guests, sponsors and stakeholders, budgeting and fiancees, event preparation, set up and pack down, marketing and design of all visuals and various other tasks. This was invaluable experience and provided me with a strong foundation of skills.
Girl Guide Fundraising Disco
Event Coordinator - Volunteer
As a Girl Guide Leader I am passionate about creating enriching experiences for my young girls to participate in. I run biannual fundraising discos to support the activities and infrastructure that we provide for the local community. As the sole event coordinator I am responsible for creating and enforcing H&S procedures, cash handling procedures, games, activities and music, volunteer management and all other aspects of the event. These fundraising discos are always extremely effect and have become our largest fundraising event.
Brisbane Street Art Festival
Volunteer
BSAF is an annual public art event that seeks to provide opportunities for creative practitioners and the wider community to develop positive partnerships through engagement and collaboration. As an avenue for artistic expression, BSAF endeavours to create a multi-disciplinary platform that encourages any and all art forms to participate. BSAF provides a framework of showcase and engagement for public art across Brisbane.
